Captains' Away Day at Bedale 2025

On the clubhouse balcony before the match.

All 5 groups really enjoyed the day out and the course which offered some good challenges as well as a few annoying ponds and ditches to catch out the unwary golfer.

Pat hands over the trophy to Karen Howells-Lee who also picked u the prize for Nearest the Pin on the short 12th with 34".

The catering was much appreciated by everyone with a good choice of main and desert served efficiently and on time as we all rolled back in to the very well-appointed clubhouse.

Playing Stonehouse in the Gilling Cup 2025

Patrick and Steve with Keith waiting to hear the outcome of the match.

Another very close match which followed the lunchtime BBQ and buffet and was a thoroughly enjoyable day after the rain cleared away to the east.

Good to see the back of that storm as it headed out to sea!.

In the end the Cup was returned to the club as the final match went to 2 extra holes to settle the day in our favour!

To date this has raised £3431.73 for the two nominated charities (Dreams Come True and Thin Blue Paw)

all 9 tees were sponsored on the day: Houghtons; Spectrum Electrical; Watertite; Stonehouse; Bluestar Interiors; Davis Site Security; Life Kitchens; GCGC; JT Atkinson; Timeless.

Prize Day June 2025

Everyone enjoying the excellent buffet (captain Keith Harrison on the extreme left of picture).

As ever the buffet was brilliant and there was plenty left to take home!

Playing Stonehouse in the Gilling Cup 2024

Our 2024 chairman Keith hands over the Gilling Cup to Team Stonehouse.

That was a really fun match, and proved that the handicap system can work even for some very big numbers! A close result, but Stonehouse have it this year by 1pt.

Top marks to the chefs on a cracking BBQ to finish the day.

Our game was seduced by the drifting aroma of BBQ as we cut the short holes and played out the 18th. The weather held off and the burgers were very welcome after a tough 15 holes!

Prize Day May 2024

Our 2024 captain Bruce Baker hands over the Scratch Trophy and memento to Keith Harrison.

Thanks to all who set up a splendid day with an excellent buffet lunch following a lovely sunny morning.

The 2023 Christmas Extravaganza at the Fairfax

Captain Andy awarding our Club Member of the Year to Keith Holloway.

Pat Thompson (along with Adrian and Miles) get a nice surprise thank-you of a boxed set of personalized pitchmark tool and ball markers.

Sept 23: The club welcomes Bbridge Youth FC Charity Day

Great to see a full course with lots of extra challenges for a very successful charity day. Thanks to all our members who played, and we hope the many visiting golfers enjoyed a breezy but largely dry morning.

Sept 23: Captain’s Away Day at Aldwark Manor Estate

Ready to take on the re-built Aldwark Manor estate course for our annual outing. The ground was still quite soft after all the recent rain, but the weather relented on the day and most of us got round unscathed by the new water hazards.

The much anticipated drive over the Ouse had actually made the very dodgy tee shot much easier than on the old layout, and I am afraid I went into ball-preservation mode at the water-hole par-3 and played around it as a short 4. Scoring was not great on the day (31pts won it) but the course played very long and even the semi-rough had got away from them. The all-new Bunker bar was excellent tho as a warm down snack opportunity.

July 23: Our first away match vs Ingleby Barwick

A good view of our new team kit on show at our first away match against Ingleby Barwick, which is a very cute 9-hole course in a meander of the river Tees just a few miles from the centre of Middlesbrough. They gave us an excellent complementary pizza to follow in the modern cafe/bar which doubles as their clubhouse (as long as it's not too busy).
